Wire erosion or wire EDM is a process of high precision particle removals by an electric spark (cutting) electrically conductive materials. The process takes place between a tungsten carbide wire and an electrically conductive workpiece
With this process we "cut" materials such as steels, gray cast iron, copper, aluminum, brass, titanium alloys, etc. The advantages of this process are: high accuracy of cut, smooth surfaces, cutting of hardened materials.
We create a dwg/dxf file, then transfer it to CAM software and sent it to the machine using g-code. The accuracy of this procedure is measurable in microns, and surface finish is impeccable. (Ra = 0.7-0.3µm)
